Using Facilitated Team Techniques to Define Information System Requirements

Abstract: Facilitated Team Techniques (FTT) consist of a series of highly structured group meetings designed to extract high-quality business information system specifications from end users within a compressed time frame. This paper discusses: the advantage of FTT over traditional data gathering methods such as interviews; some key features of FTT; reported benefits of FTT; and conditions under which FTT are appropriate.
